Karate dojos

Your style, your kyu: DojoTally fits your dojo

Shotokan, Goju-ryu, Kyokushin or whatever style you teach: every organization orders its kyu with its own colors. You load your dojo's ranking exactly as it is, and the system counts each karateka's classes toward their next grading.

  • Free up to 10 students
  • Requirements by classes or hours
  • Alerts when someone stops coming
Kyu and danOne dojo's example
  1. White starting kyu
  2. Yellow
  3. Orange
  4. Green
  5. Blue
  6. Purple
  7. Brown 3rd to 1st kyu
  8. Black 1st dan and up
The number of kyu, their colors and whether they carry stripes vary by style and organization. This is just one example.

Kyu gradings

Every grading, with the math already done

You set how many classes, training hours or months each kyu requires, and whether any has a minimum age. Before you put the grading panel together, you open Promotions and see who qualifies, who's at 80% and exactly what each one is still missing.

  • Classes or hoursIf your classes run 90 minutes, you can require training hours instead of classes
  • Stripes within a beltIf your dojo awards stripes before the color change, those get their own requirement too
  • Promote everyone at onceAfter the grading you mark everyone who passed, in a single step
  • The sensei decidesThe list suggests; nobody moves up a kyu without a person confirming it

Staff only: the karateka sees their belt, not the list.

Schedule and attendance

Kata in the morning, kumite at night

You add each class with its time, room and instructor, including kobudo or self-defense as a separate discipline if you teach them. Each karateka checks in on the tablet at the door and attendance is saved by class, which is what later counts toward their next kyu.

  • Check-in with a PIN or the QR on their member card
  • A heads-up at the door if their monthly fee is overdue
  • Manual marking from the dashboard when needed

Absence alerts

Don't let anyone quit two months before the grading

Someone who misses three weeks in a row rarely comes back on their own. DojoTally knows who checks in every day and, when someone goes past the number of days you set without showing up, it messages them from the dojo's WhatsApp with your message. The reply comes straight to you.

  • A fixed number of days, or adjusted to each plan's frequency
  • One message per absence, with a pause for injured students
  • A list of at-risk karatekas with how many days since they last came
Today's attendance
Lots of people come back to karate as adults. The agent knows which class to send them to, even if they haven't trained in years.

The agent replies on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger using your real schedule. It only offers the classes you marked as beginner-friendly, books the trial class and sends a reminder the day before. Later, in the trial calendar, you see whether they showed up and whether they signed up.

Questions from karate dojos

Does it work with any karate style?

Yes. DojoTally doesn't come with a fixed karate ranking: you load your belts with their names and colors, in the order your style or organization uses, and give them whatever requirements you use.

Can I require hours instead of classes?

Yes. For each belt you choose classes, training hours (based on how long each class they attended runs) or months, or a combination. Anything you leave blank isn't required.

What if the dojo also offers kobudo or self-defense?

Each one is set up as its own discipline, with its own classes, plans and, if it has ranks, its own requirements. The agent recognizes which discipline each person is asking about.

Can I charge per class for people who come occasionally?

Yes. On top of monthly plans, you can sell class packs or drop-in classes, and each check-in deducts one class from the pack.

Less paperwork before the grading. More time for kata.
